Picture extract from a film found on a yard sale, 2014
Some months ago I found an undeveloped film on a yard sale. I bought it and scanned it.  There was pictures of a wedding, people sleeping, women laughing, cars, a transatlantic liner. I spent hours looking at these pictures, trying to understand the story behind these photos. I imagined a nice story. Looking at cars and clothes, it seems that the pictures were taken between 1935 and 1945. And there was that one, a double exposure. It was highly underexposed, nearly all black with a white stain. I did some editing and I really love it. First exposure is what seems to be a firework, the second one is very blurry, the only thing I noticed is a piano marked “Hansen”. How much I love to lost myself into tiny mysteries….

"Such an atmospheric shot. Something about the illuminated windows in the dark houses makes me feel a strange mixture of loneliness and cosiness."

Hello Nocturna-Fangor ! Yes I totally agree with you when you say “loneliness and cosiness”. It is exactly what I was feeling… I was there for my job, all alone in a city I didn’t knew at all. It was in october, a few days before halloween, at dusk. Chilly weather with a clear blue sky, that very moment when shops turn on the lights. I was looking at the sun and this is what explains the strange colours I think. Thanks for your reblog and message !
